Salomon has been building mountain equipment in Annecy in the French Alps since 1947, when the Salomon family started out making ski edges in a small workshop. That same engineering underpins trail shoes like the XT-6, XA Pro 3D and Speedcross, with Quicklace, Contagrip and Sensifit carried over straight from the mountain.
